Duties

Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems

Working with Management and Board Chairperson in developing Grace House business plan and budget

Reconcile accounts and maintain financial statements

Maintain an accurate account of all monies recieved, including bank reconciliations

Prepare cheques and maintain payroll records for both staff and odd job squad

Prepare financial statements to use in proposals for funding/grants

Prepare and have all records ready for audit at the end of each fiscal year (April 1 to May 31)

Keep an organized filing systems for all receipts, bank statements, invoices etc

Assist with Collections of accounts and Customer Service/Collection files

Prepare monthly financial reports for the Board as well as Governing bodies

Prepare and distribute T4's, Receiver General remittances, attend meetings with Revenue Canada auditors as needed

Assist auditor with yearend financial/adjustments. Bank reconciliations

Track spending in various accounts and ensure budge is maintained (Sage Program-Simply Accounting)

Qualifications:

10-15 Hours a week - Monday thru Friday

2 years Bookkeeping-Accounting experience

Office 365, Outlook, MS Access, MS Powerpoint, MS Windows, MS Word

Data Base Software, Accounting Software - Sage Accounting (Simply Accounting), Electronic Mail, Data Analysis Software, Tax Prep

Organized, Accurate, Detail Oriented, Focused, Reliable

Criminal Records Check required

Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Duties

Carry out Administrative duties of the Grace House

Reception, Answering phone, Filing, Ordering Supplies for office

Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met

Data Entry, Create Letters and Forms, Organizing of correspondence

Organizational skills are a must to keep on top of this busy office

Work in a fast-paced environment

Multi tasking is essentialAssist Board of Directors as needed

Assistance with FundraisingAccounts Receivable/Payable

Maintain and update Policy/Procedure/Bylaws as assigned by Board

Complete bank deposits and maintain and balance Petty Cash

Assist in the preparation of operating budget and budgetary controls

Administer policies and procedures related to the release of records in processing requests under government access to information and privacy legislation

Liasing on behalf of clients to governing bodies and

Prepare weekly and monthly reports for governing bodies

Any other duties as required

Qualifications:

25 Hours a week - Monday thru Friday

Self Starter, Reliable, Work under Pressure

Excellent written and oral communication

Effective Interpersonal Skills

2 years Business or Admin experience considered an asset
